On the 27th of November, Luigi De Russis presented a report about his Ph.D. activity at Politecnico, as requested for concluding the second year of the Ph.D. program.
The topic of the presentation was "Interacting with Smart Environments: Interfaces, Interaction and Usability"; the presentation slides are available on Slideshare.

Il convegno Handimatica 2012, che si è tenuto a Bologna da giovedì 22 a sabato 24 novembre 2012, è l'appuntamento biennale sulle tecnologie (in particolare ICT) applicate al problema della disabilità.
Nell'ambito del convegno, la giornata del 23/11 ospita l'evento "Il lavoro come integrazione di abilità", che si articola dalle 10:00 alle 17:00 con varie tipologie di interventi.
In tale evento, nel pomeriggio vi è stata la tavola rotonda "Le università "producono" una cultura inclusiva?", nella quale si discuterà anche del corso universitario di Tecnologie per la Disabilità tenuto al Politecnico di Torino dai prof. Corno, Ferraresi, Farinetti e Gastaldi.
L'evento è stato pubblicato anche via Internet, in streaming.

Con l'intervento "La domotica al servizio della persona", Fulvio Corno ha partecipato alla tavola rotonda "La gestione domiciliare del paziente SLA" presso il XII Workshop SLA (Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica).
Durante la tavola rotonda si sono discussi i ruoli dei vari professionisti che gravitano intorno alla domiciliazione del paziente, in particolare la presentazione ha portato il concetto che l'ambiente può essere una risorsa, per fornire maggiore autonomia, anziché un ostacolo.

At the latest ANT 2012 Conference, in Niagara Falls (Ontario, Canada), Fulvio Corno presented a talk on internet-scale sensor data publishing and distribution, compatible with Linked Data and RDF standards, using the LO(D)D publish-and-subscribe framework. LO(D)D stands for Linked Open (Dynamic) Data and allows publication (and consumption) of streams of RDF statements, that encode "events" representing near-real-time data captured by sensors and/or computed by pervasive applications. The LO(D)D strategy will be adopted in the SMILE-O project for enabling the developmend of open applications on top of distributed data sources.
