The e-lite research group is proud to announce the latest release of the Dog gateway, ambitiously called Dog2.0.

Dog is a Domotic OSGi Gateway, i.e., a software-based gateway used for controlling domotic environments in a vendor-independent way, thanks to its high-level semantic device modeling strategy and its driver architecture that allows to support different domotic plant technologies.

The 2.0 series of the Dog gateway is a substantial rewrite with respect to the previous version. Full release notes and software download are available on the domoticdog.sourceforge.net website.

The DOG domotic gateway has alway been, well, a gateway... And gateways have no user interface, they are designed to sit into a closet or a server rack.

Recently, DOG gained a new User Interface for controlling intelligent environments. The user interface is compliant with the COGAIN Recommendations for Eye-based Environmental Control applications, and may be operated through the mouse, through a touch screen, or through an Eye Tracker (by exploiting COGAIN's ETU Universal Driver).

The DogEye user interface has been presented by Luigi De Russis as his Master Thesis, on February 2, 2010, supervised by Emiliano Castellina and exploiting a former prototype built by Faisal Razzak.
