The e-Lite research group will partecipate at the 14th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE '18), to be held in Rome, from the 25th to the 28th of June 2018. The conference focuses on Intelligent Environments (IEs), physical spaces into which IT and other pervasive computing technology are woven and used to achieve specific goals for the user, the environment or both. IEs have the ultimate objective of enriching user experience, better manage, and increase user awareness of, that environment.

Fulvio Corno, Fabio Ballati e Alberto Monge Roffarello will present different contributions, ranging from keynotes to papers, on different topics.

In particular, Alberto will join the Doctoral Colloquium by describing his Ph.D. research topic so far. The doctoral colloquium contribution is entitled "End User Development in the IoT: a Semantic Approach" and it will be presented on June, 28 at 14:30. The paper and the related presentation cover EUPont, together with all the approaches and tools Alberto designed and developed in the last two year, with the goal of helping end-users to program their technological devices and services in smart environments.

Fabio, instead, will present a paper entitled "'Hey Siri, do you understand me?': Virtual Assistants and Dysarthria" at the co-located International Workshop on the Reliability of Intelligent Environments (WoRIE 2018). The paper reflects and describes the accuracy and reliability of voice-activated virtual assistants (i.e., Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa) when used by people with dysarthria.

Finally, Fulvio has been invited as a keynote speaker of the same WoRIE 2018 workshop. The title of the talk is "User Expectations in Intelligent Environments: Issues and Opportunities in the Interaction of Intelligent Users and Intelligent Environments", and it will be on June 26, at 9:00.
